Who should attend this course?

The general fire awareness and fire extinguisher training course is suitable for all employees and is particularly valuable for new staff and staff that have areas of fire safety or health and safety responsibilities.

Course overview

All our fire safety courses are tailored to the bespoke needs of our clients, however the course is of 3 hours duration and is designed to raise the awareness of students to the REAL dangers associated with fire and smoke and how to safely deal with a small fire. All students will have the opportunity to safely operate a range of portable fire extinguishers on our modern LPG, environmentally friendly fire fighting demonstration units.

Aims and objectives

By the end of the course, the students will

• Understand the causes of fire, basic fire prevention and be able to identify fire hazards in the workplace
• More fully understand the dangers of fire including the speed of spread and its development 
• Understand the action to be taken upon discovering a fire and be able to select and use a range of fire fighting equipment 
• Understand the importance of maintenance of fire safety measures.

Location

The course can be delivered at a suitable location for learning either at the workplace or at a mutually convenient external location. Additional costs may be incurred for booking external venues.
